Honors and Distinctions:

Mentz is the only American in US history to honored with a KSG Knighthood by the Imperial Order of St. Jörgens Habsburg-Lothringen (Order of St. Georg Habsburg Lorraine)  while also having received the government recognized noble title and order of merit called the “Datuk Seri” by His Royal Highness Tuanku Seri Paduka Duli Yang Mulia Sultan Tuan Besar Agung (TSPDYM STBA) Muhammad Yunus Abdullah Rahmadsyah Al-Haj, Sovereign of the Diraja Airtiris Melayu Kampar Sultanate. These awards signify high recognition of Commissioner Mentz’s educational contributions to society and is a symbol of cross-cultural and interfaith unity. Mentz has served as a Good Will Ambassador and worked on foreign service projects for various organizations over the last 20 years while also being an Associate of St. George House Windsor Castle.

• Awarded the prestigious Colonel Commission by Governor Andy Beshear, recognizing outstanding contributions to society and civil service.

• Colonels serve as goodwill ambassadors for the state, attending state functions, participating in charitable activities, and representing the Commonwealth globally.

White House Appointment by the President of the United States

• Commissioner George Mentz was appointed and served as a White House Commissioner under President Trump and for Biden. Mentz had volunteered for several US presidents.  Mentz's appointment represented a selection of being eminent in his profession of teaching and international law.

Noble Title Award - YBhg Datuk Seri "Yang Berbahagia" (The Honorable) (Sep 2024)

• Awarded the title of "Datuk Seri" by the Raj/King Sultan of Kampar for contributions to education, scholarship, and interfaith harmony.

• This prestigious title is part of the Order of the Noble Seri Mahkota of the Diraja Airtiris Melayu Kampar Sultanate and is rarely granted to Europeans or Americans. 

• The title carries the honorific Yang Berbahagia (YB), meaning "The Honorable."
