TEACHING
PHILOSOPHY: To strive for excellence in teaching
courses is my primary mission. A secondary objective
is to incorporate the best features of my practical
experience into lectures, facilitation, and student
interaction. Personally, teaching is an art that must
be engaged with enthusiasm, skill, and a desire for
personal growth through quality instruction, research,
publication, and student counseling that includes such
traits as:
·
Showing concern and respect for students
· Using teaching methods that allow students
to actively learn in conjunction with the class
· To enable students to learn and synthesize
legal and ethical information
· Utilize appropriate assessment tools and styles.
· To facilitate critical thinking and adult discussion.
· Giving and receiving high quality feedback
· Making the course and material stimulating
· Clearly explaining student expectations and
terminal course objectives through written, verbal,
and Internet delivery.
· Encouraging student independence and use of
technology for research
· Inspiring the students in their career objectives
· Creating satisfied students who become future
alumni that will perceive value and quality from their
Educational Experience
· Integrating technology and teaching into the
course environment.
EDUCATIONAL
CONCENTRATIONS My career includes completing a post
(Juris Doctorate) masters degree which included a heavy
emphasis on international law, international business,
and financial services. Further, my MBA education required
over 50 graduate credit hours in contrast to a shorter
24 hour LLM or combined JD/MBA program. This afforded
an opportunity to take the standard 90 hours of law
with over 54 hours of graduate international courses,
finance, accounting, and business. I believe that being
able to mix practical business experience with practical
legal and marketing skills, international and comparative
legal thought, e-Business, financial, accounting, and
ethical issues is an advantage that I have in teaching.
With years of university and graduate school teaching
experience and professional training & seminar experience
in the corporate and ebusiness world, I have learned
to understand and explain concepts as they relate to
real life, business practice, legal and ethical situations,
and corporate management. It is my entrepreneurial,
international, and legal background along with the above
attributes that will remain my strengths as a faculty
member.
